Shang from Mulan

Well this took like a month to churn out. Sorry guys! I’ve been busy with other art things but I’m intent on finishing the Disney series (just one more now!)

Shang is like the shit. He is like fast, strong, and agile. I wish we got to see more of him fighting in the film but it is a Disney film so i guess they would have to keep violence to a minimum (despite the fact that Mulan has the highest kill count out of all the princesses).

For his costume, I’ve been watching too much of Avatar: The Last Airbender so there is definitely some Fire Nation going on in here but I tried to keep close to his orginal design. It took me a while to decide on a weapon for him. I wanted to use traditional dao swords but they look to menacing and boring. So i ended up with this guan dao mother fucker. He’s also really good with staff in the film but I already gave the staff to C.L.U. so I this was the closest I could get.
